A Westphalian age, obtained by macrofloras, is given to formations of the "Terrestrial Unit" of the southern Vosges (France) along two sections between the villages Bourbach-le-Haut and Bourbach-le-Bas. The "Terrestrial Unit" is poorly dated. The palynomorph assemblage and palynodebris is described. A palynofacial model for these lacustrine deposits is put forward with respect to the sedimentological facies. The host rocks of the fossils are rhyolitic tuffs and pelites with intercalated sandstones of fluviatil origin. Both sections have been tilted by a tectonic deformation (probably folding) in postwestphalian times.
